SEYİT GAZİ (AYİOS SİMEON)

Tüm Erdek’i denizi güneşi her bir noktayı alabildiğine gören bu tepe yüzyıllardan günümüze çeşitli amaçlarla kullanılmış. Eteklerinde hala kale surlarının yıkıntılarının bulunduğu tepede, doğanın yaptığı çok sayıda mağara ve köprüler bulunmakta. Seyit gazi Tepesinin en üst noktasında eski kilisenin temel kalıntıları mevcuttur. Biraz ilerisinde ise Seyit Gazi Türbesi olarak bilinen bir türbe vardır. Halk arasında bu türbeye yürüyerek çıkan ve dua edenlerin dileklerine kavuşacağı söylenir. Türbenin ayakucunda çok sayıda mum, çevresindeki birçok ağacın da gelin gibi süslü olduğu gözlerden kaçmamaktadır. Bu tepede kayalar arasına inşa edilmiş dört bin kişilik eğlence merkezi Kaya The Rock disco. Adını o tepede yaşayan bir evsizden alan Robinson Bar, eski surların içine gayet şık biçimde yerleştirilmiş ve Erdek’in hatta Türkiye’nin gözde eğlence mekânları arasında yerini almıştır.

SEYİTGAZİ HILL ( AYİOS SİMEON)

            In the south of Erdek, this conical hill which can see the sun, the sea and every points of Erdek has been used for different purposes  for centuries. There are some caves and bridge shaped rocks in the south –east of the hill; moreover, visitors can see some castle walls in the west foot of Seyitgazi Hill. On the summit some base ruins tell us that there had been a church in the ancient times. Beside these bases, the tomb of Seyit Gazi Dede where people pray and make a wish for their desires hopping  to come true by lighting candles in the early hours at dawn, on the day of Hıdırellez. Connecting a piece of cloth on the branch of a tree or drawing some figures of desired things with some small stones are seen everywhere on the holly hill where there is a famous disco called ‘Kaya The Rock’ with the capacity of 4 thousand people , and a bar called ‘Robinson’ with the fame of country wide.
